Seis cadros, op. 11, for solo oboe
Sergio Rodríguez Pena
Seis cadros is a work for solo oboe composed by Sergio Rodríguez Pena, a young Galician composer whose pieces have already travelled all over the world played by different ensembles.
This is a six-movement composition and each of them is inspired by a significant painting in the history of contemporary art, and, of course, by its painter. In order of appearance, these are: La musa (A Muse, Pablo Picasso), El 3 de mayo en Madrid (The Third of May, Francisco de Goya), El carnaval del arlequín (The Harlequin’s Carnival, Joan Miró), La persistencia de la memoria (The Persistence of Memory, Pablo Picasso) and Azul LXIX (Antoni Tàpies).
