Scottish drum, vol 2: Intermediate

David González Outumuro

The drum is a basic instrument regarding the percussion scene. It can function as a solo instrument or as an accompaniment, and also in the company of other instruments, such as the drums. The Scottish drum is possibly the most widely used in pipe bands and its characteristic phrasing and nuances makes the methods designed for it more musically flexible than the ones derived from American or ‘international’ rudiments.

The proposed method is essential for drum students or professional interpreters as it serves as a perfect complement to proper instrument training. Regarding students, this volume is valid for different levels and therefore it is perfect to be used in music schools or conservatories. Of course, it is also appropriate for pipe bands.

This book is the second volume of the series on Scottish drum, and so, its exercices and pieces have a higher difficulty level than the ones included in the first volume. This progression facilitates correct learning. Besides, the author, David González Outumuro, is an experienced teacher with an outstanding dedication to the drum.
