En noche de luna: Six easy works for piano by Reveriano Soutullo, edited by Alejo Amoedo

Reveriano Soutullo; edited by Alejo Amoedo

Reveriano Soutullo was an outstanding zarzuela composer who also wrote important piano pieces during his career, three collections in total. Among all of them, this is the only one that has been entirely preserved. Thus, Alejo Amoedo, renowned Spanish pianist and editor of the work, has been able to locate all the pieces included in En noche de luna: Amor que nace (waltz), Declaración romántica (habanera), El sí de la doncella (polka), Entrevista amorosa (mazurka), ¿Celos? (schotis) and Idealidad (jota).

In addition to its importance as a sample of the production of the great Galician composer, this album presents a clear pedagogical interest as it is perfect to be used in music schools or conservatories. It would also be possible to use these pieces as piano accompaniments in dance classes, as all of them are, in fact, dances.
